Graduate of Elected
Public Defender since 1982. Founder of Defender College
The Dean’s Message... Defender College is the result of an idea that I had years ago. I have been Training Director for the Florida Public Defender’s Association for the past 17 years. Like my fellow Public Defenders, I am acutely aware of a need throughout the state for practical hands-on trial advocacy training for the young assistant public defender. This Defender College Program was not designed to create 56 trial lawyers in three and a half days. It was designed to create a confidence and a belief within those 56 lawyers attending that they can become part of an elite group of lawyers among lawyers; the trial lawyer. Just as a surgeon is an elite technician of medicine, the trial lawyer is a technician of the law. Defender College strives to instill each of you the inner confidence necessary to allow you to develop into a surgeon of the law.
