Hernando County Parks and Recreation Welcomes Sponsors

The Hernando County Recreation Department is a partially fee supported department under the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners. A majority of the monies used to pay for sponsorships, program salaries and supplies, field trips, transportation, and other recreation expenses must be generated through user fees, registration fees, facility rentals and donations.

The children seeking assistance are from all areas of Hernando County. Financial Aid applications are accepted on a first come first serve basis.
Each parent must submit a request for sponsorship and provide documentation of financial status, before they will be considered. Priority is given to parents currently employed and in need of day care to attend their jobs. The families who qualify for sponsorship are grateful their children have the opportunity to attend such an exciting program. In the past, we have received our limit for Financial Aid applications within the first week of registration, and must put the other names on a waiting list.
