The Hernando County Recreation Department is dedicated to providing a quality leisure
activities for all our citizens. We strive to offer residents and visitors
opportunities for recreation and improvement of physical and mental
well-being, through programs and services that enhance their quality of
life.
Our primary goal is to provide safe, clean and functional parks and
recreation facilities, and to assist in the planning and development of new
and improved facilities to meet the continued growth within the county. We
are committed to fulfilling our mission through visionary leadership,
individual dedication, and the responsible use of available resources.

Father Daughter Dance - 6th Annual Posted 12/30/2009 Great memories were made once again. A total of 830 people attended the 2010 dance. We thank the community for your support of our special events. A HUGE thank you to all our HCRD sponsors! Women's Outdoor Weekend All Ages Welcome! Posted 9/25/2009 We had a GREAT time this past November learning new skills, getting away to relax! There were a variety of workshops to choose from. See attached photos & listing of activities. This event was open to women of ALL ages. No physical requirements were necessary. Unfortunately for 2010 we will not be able to offer this event. However, we do hope to bring it back in the future!

Bark Island at Pine Island Posted 9/15/2008 You and your furry friends are welcome at Pine Island the first Saturday of the month from 8am to 10am for a charge of $5 per car or walk up patron. Sept. 2008 through April 2009.
